Nail Tools

The nail market has grown so much in the past few years. I follow a lot of different bloggers and each of them have their own signature designs and use their own variations of products. Here are a few of the tools that I use for my nails designs on this blog.

Dotting Tools

These double sided dotting tools are great for almost any design. I use them for not only for dots (here), but also to fill in small areas cut off with striping tape (here) and also to design patterns when I water marble (here). What I love most about these is how easy they are to clean after! I bought my Cheeky dotting tool set on amazon here but you can find many different options as well here. Remember, you can also use every day household items like pens, pencils, toothpicks and bobby pins to create perfect dots.

Striping Tape

Some of my favourite designs are done with striping tape! The tapes are all very thin and peel off easily. Sometimes regular scotch tape sticks to the nail polish layer under it, but these are perfect for designs and peel off easily. You can use them as guide lines (here), you can paint over a colour and peel it off (here), or you can use them on top of a nail polish (here), topped with a top coat. I bought my striping tape on amazon here, but again, there are many other options here.

Nail Brushes

At first, I never thought I would try free hand nail designs, but once in a while I crack out the nail brushes and attempt something now. Some of my favourite designs (here and here) have been done with these brushes. The nail brushes are from Amazon here and after a quick search you can find many more reasonably priced options.

As you can see, the options are endless! Have fun with your nail tools and remember you can always use household items like pencils, pens and toothpicks as tools for different nail designs as well.  I hope you enjoy this blog and nail art just as much as I do!
